Why We Are Named

Carol Lynn Watts Christian School

This school is named in honor of my beloved Grandmother, affectionately known as “Grams.” One of four children born to Pastor Mark and Wanda Watts, Carol Lynn Watts was a gifted musician who brought beauty and joy wherever she went. Whether she was playing the Organ, Piano, or Accordion, her music was a reflection of her deep love for God and others. If she wasn’t singing in Church, she was harmonizing in the car, sharing songs in schools, or lifting spirits in convalescent homes. Her life was a melody of service, compassion, and unwavering faith. She taught me more than just music—she taught me about love, purpose, resilience, and above all, Jesus. Diagnosed with multiple myeloma, she carried herself with extraordinary strength and grace. She refused to let illness define her, choosing instead to embrace each day with joy. Her radiant spirit earned her the nickname “Rainbow”— a name that perfectly captured her colorful personality and her ability to brighten every room she entered. Carol Lynn Watts continues to be my greatest inspiration. Through this school, I hope to honor her legacy by sharing her love for Music and Christ with the next generation. My prayer is that I can reflect even a portion of the light she brought into my life into the lives of others. She was always there for me. Whether I was performing in a Band Concert, marching in a Parade, competing on the Field, or leading as a Drum Major, she was usually following me with her iPad taking videos. Her support never wavered. One of the most unforgettable memories we shared was when she traveled with me and the RCC Marching Tigers on tour to Paris, France. She often said that was the best trip of her life. She was my best friend, my biggest fan, and my constant source of encouragement. I’ll never forget her, and I carry her spirit with me in all that I do.

Mission Statement:

We are going to teach our students how to become champions in bringing life, inspiration, meaning, movement, connection, and healing, not just in their performances, but also in their words and actions as modeled to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
